The Royal Palace in Stockholm was built 1697-1754 on the ruins of the old castle Tre Kronor, destroyed by fire in 1697. The Royal Palace Tre Kronor Museum, Stockholm, is situated in the cellars of the Royal Palce. Here you can see remnants of the Tre Kronor castle which dated back to the 13th century, sections of the old defense walls from the 1200s and many artefacts rescued from the flames.
