| Package rates: Rates shown above are per person in double or twin-bedded room with private bathroom and include breakfast*), taxes and the Stockholm à la Carte card featuring unlimited public transportation, 14 free tours by boat, free admission at 60 attractions and more - a value in itself. *) Except at the self-service apartment hotels. Currency, payment, terms: All reservations are charged in local currency (SEK). Foreign currency rates are based on today's bank rates and are shown to give you a rough idea. Payment is always to us, never to the hotel. Click here for terms of contract. Pricing policy: All hotels have been priced to provide equal value for money. In the trade-off between physical standard, service level and location, suburbian locations easily accessible from major highways have been allowed to outweigh (ratewise) addresses not so easily found by people travelling by car, i.e. hotels northeast and southeast of downtown. So this is where you will find our greatest bargains. Children: Children under 18 will receive a free rollaway bed in the room of the parent(s), free breakfast*) and a free Stockholm à la Carte card at all hotels where rooms are of sufficient size (almost all). See the Stockholm Hotels Family Bargains overview for the best deals or click on the hotel names above. Single rooms: Many hotels will let you have a single room for the price of a half double, or two singles at the price of a double room. Click on the hotel names for details. Long weekends: Thursday nights will be offered at full rate at most hotels. Minutes to downtown: We show the travelling time by the fastest available public transportation, not counting the time needed to walk to the nearest station or bus stop. In the case of Stockholm hotels very close to downtown, we show walking time. Downtown - See map - is defined as the small one square kilometer area between Kungsgatan-Birger Jarlsgatan and the waterfront. Within this area lie all department and other major stores, the financial and government districts and communications centres such as the central railway station and the city air terminal. For hotels inside of this area, we show '0' as the distance. | The Swedish hotel classification system: An official hotel classification system managed by SHR, the Swedish Hotel & Restaurant Federation, is in use in Sweden since December 2003. All Stockholm à la Carte hotels are classified for 3-5 stars. The classification system is based on a 1 - 5 star rating of the hotels. Every classified hotel will bear a blue sign with a yellow "H" and the number of stars awarded, usually displayed at the entrance to the hotel. The number of stars will, of course, only apply if the sign displays a current year sticker. Two different categories: Hotel This category comprises 1-5 stars hotels serving food over and above breakfast. Hotel Garni This group comprises hotels serving breakfast only. The highest rating in this category is four stars. Please observe: The size of guest rooms do not have any impact on the classification of a hotel. Swedish hotels have, from an international point of view, rather small guest rooms in general. The criteria: There are a total of around 130 Swedish criteria and they apply both to public areas and to the actual hotel rooms. In principle, the lowest standard shall determine the classification. The criteria shall reflect the Swedish hotel market's development and customers' requirements. Examples of the requirements for the various star ratings: |
